Undertaking the "Climate Smart Economic Empowerment Special Initiative (CSEE SI) Baseline Study" on behalf of Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), Danish Church Aid (DCA), and the Joint Country Program (JCP) was a significant milestone for BEMAC Research Solution Limited. This project was an opportunity to contribute to a transformative initiative that aimed to empower women and youth through climate-smart agricultural practices and sustainable energy solutions. As consultants, we were tasked with laying the foundation for a program that would have far-reaching impacts, both in terms of economic empowerment and environmental sustainability. Our role in conducting the baseline study was critical in identifying key opportunities and challenges, ensuring that the program would be strategically aligned with the needs and capacities of the target communities.

The baseline study required a meticulous approach, blending both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to gather comprehensive data on the socio-economic conditions of the participating communities. By engaging directly with women, youth, and various community groups, we gained valuable insights into the barriers they faced and the potential for growth within the framework of climate-smart agriculture and renewable energy. Our findings provided a clear roadmap for the consortium to implement interventions that would not only enhance livelihoods but also promote resilience against climate-related risks. This alignment of economic empowerment with environmental stewardship was at the core of the CSEE SI, and we were honored to play a pivotal role in setting the stage for its success.

For BEMAC, this project was more than just a consultancy; it was an opportunity to contribute to a broader vision of sustainable development. By empowering women and youth through horticulture, micro-investment groups, and collective bargaining, the CSEE SI initiative aimed to create lasting, positive change in the lives of the most vulnerable populations. Our work on this project reinforced our commitment to evidence-based research that drives meaningful outcomes, and it exemplified how strategic, data-driven insights can empower communities to thrive in a rapidly changing world. We are proud of the impact this project has had and continue to support initiatives that align with our mission to foster sustainable development through informed decision-making.
